The Story
THE CREATION..
In 1999, friends of Connie created the Foundation in her honor. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the 1995 at the age of 41. The cancer spread to her bones and she had a bone marrow transplant in 1997 at Duke University. She passed away on August 12, 2001, leaving her husband and two daughters.During her life, Connie's friendly and genuine demeanor had a profound affect on everyone she met.
THE CONTINUATION..
At Connie's suggestion, the Connie J. Goodale Cancer Foundation's goals are to assist local families affected by breast cancer and in dealing with problems relating to this disease. We provide assistance such as financial aid to breast cancer patients for certain expenses. We are the only foundation in the South Florida area that gives direct assistance to breast cancer patients.
THE PROGRESS..
The Foundation has raised $100,000 that has been donated to local women with breast cancer. Here is the difference the CJG Foundation has made so far, in the words from on recent breast cancer survivor: "Words cannot express just how grateful I am for the support of the CJG Foundation. You have brought me and my family a peace of mind that is beyond words. The burden of having medical bills and trying to keep up with the cost of life in general is almost as devastating as the cancer diagnosis. I commend your Foundation on what you do and are all about. May God bless each one of you and lead you to the so many more people in need."
