Denise
Denise is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Her insurance company claims her cancer was preexisting and is refusing coverage. We gave her $500 to assist in her medical bills while she fought the insurance company and got well.

She wrote: "Dear Connie Foundation Angels, You are the few people who understand what we are going through with breast cancer and the impossible situation with our insurance company. The money you gave me will go to all the great people that help to save my life. There are no words that I can express my thanks to the people who support this cause."

Sandra
Pain from breast cancer kept Sandra from working. We gave her $500 also to keep her creditors away for a short time.

Eugina
Eugina was diagnosed in 1988 with breast cancer and it returned last year. She has multiple brain lesions and will be radiated before surgery. She has a 14-year-old son and hasn't been able to work since 2001. She received $1,000 from the Foundation to assist her in back rent and utilities.

She expressed her gratitude: "Thank you for the tremendous assistance. I greatly appreciate it. I was able to bring my mortgage up to date. May you continue to do the good work for people like me. I love you all."

Beth
Beth was diagnosed in May 2001, at the age of 34. She had a double mastectomy and went through extensive treatment. She was not able to hold a steady job and could not afford all her medication. She needed two month's of medication expenses, $950. She was able to get a job with insurance after that.

Her words: "I want to thank you for your kind and generous gift. I can only pray that I get to "forward" your kindness to others. Thank you for all those you help. Connie must have been an amazing human being!"

Maria
Maria went through a lumpectomy, chemo and radiation at the age of 40. She had a reoccurrence and underwent a mastectomy. She took Herceptin (a tumor-fighting drug) for a year. Her insurance went from $275 per month for her whole family to $1,100 for just herself and $250 for the family. Doctors, hospitals, and recovery companies were suing her for medical bills. We alleviated her financial situation with a $2,500 donation.

Her letter said, "You have brought me and my family a peace of mind that is beyond words. The burden of having medical bills is almost as bad as a cancer diagnosis. I commend your Foundation on what you do and are all about. May God bless each one of you and lead you to the many people in need."

Mary Ellen
Mary Ellen was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 1999. She had a mastectomy, six months of chemo, eight weeks of radiation. She worked full time throughout the surgeries and treatment. In November 2001, she was downsized out of her bank marketing position. She required additional surgery and we assisted her with her co-payments.

For the assistance, she wrote "Thank you for your generous gift. It came at a perfect time. Please let me assist with the Foundation in any way I can." MaryEllen volunteered at our last fundraiser.

Faye
Faye was diagnosed in January 1999. The cancer later spread to her lungs and liver. She was in and out of the hospital, sometimes on month-long stays. She had no income coming in. She is a single mother. While waiting to sell her house and also to receive disability, she needed to put food on the table for herself and her daughter. We provided money for mortgage payments and living expenses. She told us the Foundation was an answer to her prayers

In 1999, friends of Connie created the Foundation in her honor. Our goals are to assist local families affected by breast cancer. We provide assistance such as financial aid to breast cancer patients.
